Pandemic Worth

Feeling the weight of this injustice pandemic.

Burnt out, weary and lacking space that’s restful.

But my worth. still. stands.

Feeling undervalued and unseen.

Exhausted from sustaining and pleasing.

But my worth. still. stands.

Unable to respond to needs around me in usual ways.

Disconnected from familiar rhythms of community and belonging.

But my worth. still. stands.

Tired by repetition yet nervous of transition.

Doubting my influence, role and impact.

But my worth. still. stands.

My worth is not based on position, productivity, or feelings.

It is not subject to approval, achievement or meeting expectations.

It is not a business plan that needs to progress and yield a profit.

It is not dependent on growth, mastery or thriving.

It is not based on my health, happiness or capacity to cope.

It is beyond what we can earn, before all we can plan, at the centre of our existence.

We are seen, known and loved.

Our worth. still. stands.
