You are allowed to rest, dear body
For rest is not a reward we earn,
It is a right, a state of being,
An honouring of our worth.
You are allowed to rest, dear mind
For activity and busyness is not control
Listen to your longings,
The internal pull to peace not pace.
You are allowed to rest, dear soul.
For your value is not linked to your striving
I am a whole,
Not individual disconnected cogs in a capitalist machine.
We are one dear body, mind and soul.
Come, commune, dear community.
